The short version
- LexVibeOut has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools.
- Your singing and recordings stay on your device. The app does not upload them.
- The only data the app sends over the internet is the song title and artist you search to find lyrics, and that goes to LRCLIB.
- The app does not capture your screen and does not record audio from other apps.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
1. Who we are
LexVibeOut (“the app”, “we”) is a karaoke app that plays songs you provide, shows synchronized lyrics, lets you sing through your device with sound effects, and can save recordings of your singing. It is published by Rameses Sanchez, Marikina City, Philippines. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.
The app ships with no songs. You choose the songs, lyrics, videos, photos and SoundFonts the app reads.
2. Data the app uses on your device
This information is processed on your device. We do not receive it.
- Microphone audio. Used live so you can hear yourself with effects (phone edition). It is saved only when you tap the record button. The microphone stops when you stop the live mic, and also when you swipe the app away, unless a recording is in progress.
- Recordings. A recording is an audio file of your voice mixed with the backing track. It is saved on your device in the app’s recordings folder and, if you choose to save it, in the shared Music/LexVibeOut folder (or the folder you pick). It is never uploaded by the app. You decide whether to share it.
- Camera. If you choose the live-camera stage background, the camera picture is shown on screen only. The app does not record, save or transmit it.
- Files and folders you choose. Songs, karaoke files, lyrics, videos, photos and SoundFonts are read from the files or folders you select with Android’s file picker. The app only has access to what you pick.
- Song library and settings. Your song list, queue, scores, audio and display settings, theme and remote room code are stored locally in the app’s private storage.
- Vocal removal and pitch scoring. If you use these features (phone edition), the audio is analysed entirely on your device. No audio is sent to a server.
- Notifications. The app shows a notification while the live mic or background playback is running, so you can see it is active and stop it.
3. Permissions
Android asks you before the app can use these. You can change them any time in your device’s Settings.
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| Microphone | Live singing, monitoring and recording (phone edition only). |
| Camera | Optional live-camera stage background (phone edition only). |
| Notifications | Shows the live-mic and playback notification with a Stop button. |
| Foreground service (microphone, media playback) | Keeps your mic session and the backing track running while you use other apps. |
| Change audio settings | Chooses between speaker, wired, USB and Bluetooth output and input. |
| Internet | Looks up lyrics, supports Google Play purchases, and runs the optional phone remote on your local network. |
| Storage (Android 9 and older only) | Saving recordings on old Android versions. Newer versions use the file picker and Android’s media storage instead. |
The Google TV edition does not request microphone, camera or notification permissions.
4. Data sent over the internet
Lyrics lookup (LRCLIB)
When you ask the app to find lyrics online, it sends the song title and artist text to LRCLIB (lrclib.net) over an encrypted HTTPS connection to find matching lyrics. The app does not add an account, device identifier or advertising ID to the request. Like any internet request, LRCLIB’s servers can see your IP address. LRCLIB’s own practices apply to how it handles requests. Online lyrics lookup only happens when you use it.
Google Play
Google Play handles app installation and purchases, and may collect diagnostic and usage information under Google’s Privacy Policy, including crash and performance data (Android vitals) if you have chosen to share it with developers. We receive this only in aggregated or anonymous form through Google Play Console.
5. Phone remote (local network)
If you turn on the phone remote, the app starts a small web page on your local Wi-Fi network. People on the same network who open the address and enter the on-screen room code can reserve songs, control playback and send files to the app. This uses plain HTTP on your local network only, and nothing is sent to the internet. Anyone on your network who has the room code can use it, so share it only with people you trust, use a network you trust, and turn the remote off when you are not using it. You can generate a new room code in the app at any time.
6. Purchases
Some features are unlocked with an optional one-time purchase through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and holds your payment details. The app only receives confirmation that you own the purchase so it can unlock the features. We do not receive your card number, name or address from Google Play.
7. What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics, tracking or profiling tools in the app.
- No user accounts or sign-in.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No screen recording and no capture of audio from other apps.
- No uploading of your recordings, microphone audio or camera images.
8. Storage, retention and deletion
Because we do not collect your data on our servers, we hold nothing about you to delete. Data on your device stays there until you remove it:
- Recordings: delete them from the app’s recordings screen or from your Files, Music or Gallery app.
- Settings, library and room code: clear the app’s storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app.
- Files you exported or shared: these are copies outside the app and are managed by you.
9. Security
Recordings and settings are kept in app-private or user-selected storage on your device, and Android’s own protections apply. Online lyrics lookups use HTTPS. The phone remote uses a random room code and temporarily blocks repeated wrong guesses, but it is not encrypted, as explained above. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
LexVibeOut is a general-audience karaoke app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and have a concern, contact us at the email address below.
11. Your rights and choices
Because we do not collect or store your personal data, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, California privacy law, or the Philippine Data Privacy Act), you may still have rights regarding personal information. If you want to ask a question or make a request, contact us and we will respond.
You can always: turn off microphone, camera or notification permission in Android Settings; stop the live mic or the phone remote in the app; choose not to use online lyrics lookup; and delete recordings or uninstall the app.
For how Google Play and LRCLIB treat data on their side, please see their own policies.
12. Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Please check back occasionally. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated policy.
